The Bollinger Band indicator is another fantastic one good for trend, counter trend entry and exit. one thing that i know about it is that, if you must trend trade it, you had better work with higher timeframes like Daily timeframe and above.
In this article, I will be using the daily timeframe as my trend, counter trend in the 4hr and entries in the 1hr with the help of my action and reaction lines. Before i proceed its important you have the action and reaction lines for the EURUSD as this is the only pair I will be trading on this strategy for the next 12 months. I will publish trading result every month for you to see how it goes starting from the end of this month. So let me explain the setups.
You need just the default Bollinger bands in Daily timeframe. You have a down trend when price is below the middle band and up trend when the price is above the middle band all in the daily timeframe. like you can see below:
Currently the EURUSD trend is in a DownTrend and let me give an example of entry for SELL. Before you sell wait for 4hr price to hit the 4hr upper Bollinger Band, then also ensure that the daily BB is still downtrend. When this is ensured, then go to the 1hr and ensure that you are at the resistant zone of the Bollinger band and also at the resistant zone of an action and reaction line before you can make entry. If the line is far above the current price , then its better you get closer before making entry. The 4hr and 1hr charts below:
